The Semester Course in Fashion Design provides conceptual tools and Design fundamentals to create a Fashion Collection and develop a personal identity as Fashion Designer.

The Semester in Fashion Design will lead you to join selected theoretical courses with professionals, active learning sessions and workshops working in international and cross disciplinary teams and taking advantage of many networking occasions.
After successfully completing the Semester Course, eligible students will be recognised 24 CFA/ECTS and will obtain a Certificate of Completion.
The 24 CFA/ECTS credits will be delivered upon successful completion of the course to students enrolled in the accredited path only; they will be used in case of progression to a Master’s Programme inside ¹ú²ú¸£Àû×ÊÔ´ and might be validated at the option of the chosen University of reference in case of a transfer’s request to a postgraduate programme.
Participants are expected to have a first level academic degree or a previous professional experience in the related field of study.
IELTS 5.0 certificate or equivalent is required.
All courses are taught in English. A high level of proficiency in the English language is required.
The Semester Course structure is organized in two modules.
Each module includes one theoretical course and one workshop in the specific area of interest.
FASHION CULTURE
The Fashion Culture course offers the possibility to deeply analyse and understand the Fashion phenomenon, through an articulated and interdisciplinary approach that involves
history, anthropology, sociology and psychology.
VISUAL REPRESENTATION
The course explores advanced drawing and illustration skills. Students practice how to interpret their concepts and express their designs through conventional methods and new media.
FASHION COLLECTION
The Fashion Collection workshop focuses on the application of a professional approach in the development of a fashion collection, through the definition of an innovative concept and the presentation of a complete body of work addressed to an existing Italian and/or international fashion brand.
FASHION IDENTITY
The Fashion Identity workshop requires students to explore their own design identity, to scope and develop an individual fashion project.

After earning his bachelor’s degree in modern languages and literatures at the University of Catania, Gianfranco Olivotto moved to London, where he worked as a visual merchandiser for the Benetton Group. Back in Italy, he worked on projects with Dolce & Gabbana, Mantero Seta, and Juicy Couture. In 2000, Olivotto worked on the launch of Neil Barrett’s first collection and then served as head of the company’s public relations and press department until 2004.
In 2005, Olivotto co-founded a visual merchandising and branding agency that worked with fashion brands such as La Perla, Ralph Lauren, Borsalino, John Varvatos, developing the projects related to retail and visual communication. In 2012, Olivotto joined ¹ú²ú¸£Àû×ÊÔ´ as Programme Leader of the Master in Fashion Design and Master in Fashion Styling & Visual Merchandising.
Antonio Di Domenico, born in Naples, developed his passion for tailoring at an early age, influenced by his parents who were master tailors. Starting his career as an assistant tailor in 1984, he later earned a degree in fashion design from the Accademia della Moda in Naples. Following his graduation, he focused on men’s fashion, gaining experience through various positions in different companies.
In 1998 he gained a scholarship for Master in Fashion Design at ¹ú²ú¸£Àû×ÊÔ´ in Milan. He started working as designer assistant at Massimo Osti Studio then as Senior Designer at Neil Barrett and later worked for some important brands such as Moschino, Fay, Cerruti, Piazza Sempione, EA7 Emporio Armani, C.P. Company, Stone Island, Prada and Christopher Kane.
He is a Fashion Designer with almost 40 years’ experience within the luxury, sportswear and streetwear sectors who has designed and managed the creation of trend-led collections that have a contemporary aesthetic. In 2017 he founded the Tonyniko Studio working for several companies designing and managing their collections from initial concept to final execution.
